Munich in October can only mean one thing, BEER, however this year you would be mistaken. Not only is the world famous Oktoberfest in full swing but also the Bauma Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines, Mining Machines, Construction Vehicles and Construction Equipment. So, we sent Stowell Concrete MD Vince, senior maintenance engineer, Dave and our Plant 6 manager, Terry off to explore and report back from the Bavarian capital.
Bauma is held every three years and apparently the biggest trade show in the world, in fact this years total square meterage, both indoor and outdoor space combined is 614,000 m2 which is the equivalent to 86 football pitches.
On his return to England Vince commented "We met a lot of our existing suppliers, some potential new suppliers and a few competitors." With both Terry and Dave commenting on the vast scale of the show and the sheer range and amount of exhibiters. Funny enough no one mentioned Oktoberfest or Curry Wursts!!
Vince, Dave and Terry have certainly come away with ideas for possible future projects and we look forward to seeing and reporting on them if and when they happen.
