At Stowell Concrete, we are proud to have achieved BES 6001 “Very Good” certification. While many of the practices evaluated were already part of our operations, it’s great to have them formally recognised. This certification highlights our commitment to sustainability, ethical trading and strengthens our longstanding relationships with suppliers and customers.

What is BES 6001?

BES 6001 ensures that construction products are sourced responsibly from raw materials to the point of use. It covers environmental, social, and economic factors, and is recognized by BREEAM and the Code for Sustainable Homes, where certified products contribute to green building credits.

Building on ISO 14001

In 2015, we earned our ISO 14001 certification, which is a global standard for environmental management systems. This framework helped us reduce our environmental impact and improve efficiency. BES 6001 builds on this, ensuring responsible sourcing throughout our supply chain.

Sustainable Practices at Stowell Concrete

Our sustainability efforts go beyond certification. We’ve installed solar panels at our Yatton and Holcombe facilities, covering 3 acres, to power our operations. Our static block plant now runs primarily on solar energy, reducing carbon emissions, and our electric forklifts further minimise our environmental impact.
